HIA Annual Community Clean-Up Day - Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers are needed for assistance with the HIA Community Clean-Up Day.
Two-three weeks before:
We need help distributing flyers to notify area residents of our upcoming event. If you could pass these out in your neighborhood, it would be greatly appreciated.
Saturday, June 7, 2025 / 7:00 AM - Noon
We need volunteers for the event at Halethorpe Elementary School to assist with unloading vehicles, traffic control, and sweeping up debris.

HIA Annual Community Clean-Up Day

Time: 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Noon)
Dumpsters will be provided for you to dispose of your junk as you do your own spring cleaning.
If you are elderly or disabled and live in the immediate area, you can schedule a pickup for free by HIA. Please call 410-247-1296 to arrange.
Please note:
We are NOT ALLOWED to accept some types of debris due to landfill restrictions. They include (but
are not limited to):
Explosive or flammable materials, liquids, antifreeze, asbestos, acids, oil, antifreeze, pesticides, paints, hazardous chemicals, batteries, tires, tires on rims, computer equipment, televisions, VCR’s, DVD’s, stereos, fax machines, telephones, video display devices, CPUs, keyboards, printers, laptops, scanners, cables and cords, fax machines, stereos, medical or radioactive waste, logs or tree stumps greater than 12” in height and greater than 36” across the roots, tree limbs larger than 6’ h x 8”w x 8”d, propane bottles, concrete or stone greater than 18” in size, any appliances with freon (refrigerators, AC, etc.) and any items that cannot be lifted manually.

Adopt-A-Road Program
As part of a public service program, the Halethorpe Improvement Association adopted Potomac Avenue to help keep a part of our community beautiful by having citizens volunteer once a month to pick up litter along this county road.
